Overview

GAIA has two plans: Free and Pro. Free gives you full access to every feature with daily and monthly limits. Pro raises those limits dramatically — so you can use GAIA as much as you need without hitting walls. This guide covers how to check your usage, what each plan includes, how to upgrade, and where to find your billing details.

Check Your Current Usage

Every GAIA feature — chat messages, image generation, web search, workflows, and more — has daily and monthly limits tied to your plan. You can see all of them in one place.

Open Settings

Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner and select Settings, or go directly to Settings > Usage.

Pick a time period

Toggle between Daily and Monthly to see how much of each limit you’ve used.

Read the progress bars

Each feature shows a progress bar with your current usage and total limit. Green means you have plenty left. Yellow means you’re getting close. Red means you’re near or at the cap.

Usage resets automatically. Daily limits clear at midnight UTC. Monthly limits clear on the first of each month.

Plans and Limits

Free Plan

The Free plan costs nothing and never expires. You get access to every GAIA feature — with limits that let you try the product properly before deciding to upgrade. What’s included:
  • 200 chat messages per day (5,000/month)
  • 10 web searches per day (50/month)
  • 5 workflow operations per day (20/month)
  • 1 AI image generation per day (2/month)
  • 2 deep research sessions per day (10/month)
  • 50 todo operations per day (1,000/month)

Pro Plan

Pro raises limits by 25–250x across every feature, plus gives you priority support and access to private Discord channels. What’s included:
  • 3,000 chat messages per day (60,000/month)
  • 450 web searches per day (13,500/month)
  • 45 workflow operations per day (1,350/month)
  • 45 AI image generations per day (1,350/month)
  • 20 deep research sessions per day (600/month)
  • 1,500 todo operations per day (22,500/month)
Pro is available on monthly or yearly billing. Paying yearly saves 25%.
GAIA tracks usage across 20+ operation types — chat messages, web search, workflows, file analysis, code execution, calendar management, reminders, notes, memory operations, and more. Each counter resets on its own schedule. Hitting a daily limit on one feature doesn’t affect anything else.

Upgrade to Pro

Open the pricing modal

Go to Settings > Subscription and click View plans, or go to Settings > Usage and click Upgrade Now.

Choose your billing cycle

Select Monthly or Yearly. The yearly option shows the per-month equivalent and the total annual cost so you can compare easily.

Complete payment

Click Get Started on the Pro card. You’ll go to a secure checkout page. Enter your payment details and confirm. If you have a discount code, apply it on the checkout page.

Confirm your plan is active

After payment, GAIA sends you to a confirmation screen and updates your plan right away. Go to Settings > Subscription to confirm your status shows Active.
You’ll get a welcome email once your Pro subscription is active. Check your inbox.

Manage Your Subscription

Go to Settings > Subscription to see your plan at a glance:
  • Plan name and status — whether your subscription is Active, On Hold, Cancelled, or Expired.
  • Price and billing cycle — what you pay and whether it renews monthly or yearly.
  • Next billing date — when your next charge is due, with a countdown in days.
  • Subscribed since — the date you first activated Pro.
  • What’s included — the full list of features in your plan.

View Plans

Click View plans in the Actions section to compare your current plan with other options, or to switch between monthly and yearly billing.

Cancel Your Subscription

To cancel, contact GAIA support. The cancellation option in Settings routes through the support team to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Cancelling doesn’t cut off access immediately. You keep Pro until the end of your current billing period.

Billing Details

The Billing section under Settings > Subscription shows:

All payments go through Dodo Payments. GAIA never stores your credit card details.

What Happens When You Hit a Limit

When you reach a daily or monthly cap, GAIA tells you inline — right in the conversation. The message shows which limit you hit and when it resets. You have two options:
  1. Wait for the reset. Daily limits clear at midnight UTC. Monthly limits clear on the first of the month.
  2. Upgrade to Pro. Pro limits are high enough that most heavy users never run into them.
If you’re hitting Free plan limits regularly, that’s a good sign GAIA is saving you real time. Upgrading to Pro tends to pay for itself quickly.
