GAIA is one repository holding every app, from the web client to the bots. It is a monorepo managed by Nx, a build tool that knows how the projects depend on each other, so a command like mise run lint checks every project and caches what hasn’t changed.

Rules that live next to the code

Many folders carry a CLAUDE.md file (also linked as AGENTS.md). Despite the name, they are the house rules for that part of the codebase, written for people and AI coding assistants alike. Read the one in the folder you are changing:
  • CLAUDE.md at the root: repository-wide rules
  • apps/api/CLAUDE.md: backend conventions
  • apps/web/CLAUDE.md: frontend conventions
  • apps/bots/CLAUDE.md: bot conventions
  • apps/api/tests/CLAUDE.md: which test tier to use
Monorepo structure goes one level deeper into each app’s folders and the Nx build.
